My name is Tom, I am nineteen. I work as a teaching assistant and am musical. Whilst being quite quiet, I always have a witty comment to make and am a big kid at heart. I am a helper in the group and everyone either calls me Tom or Falcon. This is my secret agent name, an alias that was given to me by the late Peter Luxton;
‘Tommy Falcon – all crooks fear him, police can’t catch him’
My first trip to Lourdes was in 2010, I enjoyed seeing all the places I’d heard so much about. My favourite song is ‘Rise and Shine’ – who doesn’t like it?!
I keep going back because I enjoy the social and family aspect of Lourdes, celebrating life with lots of other groups in one big HCPT family.
My oldest sister went as a child, although I was too young to understand where she was going and what she was doing. Then, my sister Ceri began going as a helper and highly recommended it to me.
The Underground Basilica is my favourite place in Lourdes because it is so hidden and the entire HCPT come together there for celebrations and the Trust Mass. The torchlight procession is the best moment of the week for me. It’s exciting taking the children out at night with the glow sticks and candles. It feels very special.
